There are many Christians today who are confused and uncertain about the topic of transsexuality. They are taught that God makes people transsexual, and that Christians must accept this out of love, but to claim that God made someone both male and female is an open accusation that God is the author of confusion. This is a direct contradiction of God's statement in I Corinthians 14:33 that He is not the author of confusion. To be both male and female, you must be both permitted to speak in the church and not permitted to speak (I Corinthians 14:34-35). You must be both third in God's order of rank and fourth at the same time (I Corinthians 11:3). You must be both in a position of authority and forbidden from that position (I Timothy 2:11-12). You must be both the weaker vessel and the stronger vessel, and you must be both the giver and the receiver of your own honor (I Peter 3:7). This would be confusion of the most obvious sort, and it could not possibly proceed from the God who personally fashioned both your mind and your body to bring fear and wonder to Him (Psalm 139:14-16).
To present yourself as the opposite gender brings you into direct violation of Deuteronomy 22:5 which states in no uncertain terms that everyone who chooses to dress in the clothing of the opposite gender is an abomination to God. Transsexuals generally try to dismiss this verse as irrelevant by claiming that it only applies to ancient Israel. That dismissal can be answered with the explanation that the word "all" in the second half of the verse could only refer to everyone and could not in any way be construed as to refer only to the ancient Israelites. The claim to be transsexual, were it true, would mean that intercourse with a partner of either gender would place you in willful violation of the clear commands of God against homosexuality as found in Leviticus 18:22-30; Leviticus 20:22-23; Deuteronomy 12:31; I Kings 14:24; Ezekiel 16:49-50, Romans 1:26-27, I Corinthians 6:9, I Timothy 1:9-10 and II Peter 2:6-8. Objections to these passages are usually similar to those brought against Deuteronomy 22:5, but once again there is clear evidence from the Scriptures themselves that these passages are applicable to all of humanity. I implore those who claim to be both Christian and transsexual to heed the warnings of Scripture and abandon this course of action. "God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness" (I Thessalonians 4:7) forbidding us from conforming to the world and commanding that we be transformed not by the changing of our genders but by the renewing of our minds unto that which good, acceptable and perfect (Romans 12:2).
