I could hardly believe what I was reading. Yesterday, I asked conservative activist and former talk show host, Lee Davis, an outrageous question fully expecting him to respond with an emphatic "No!" I asked him if he would be willing to lie, cheat and steal in order to prevent Hillary from winning the election. Much to my surprise, he answered with an emphatic "Yes!" instead. Here's a screen shot of the conversation: I used to listen to Lee's radio show, and I've always enjoyed his analyses of Alabama politics. These comments seem very much out of the norm for him, but they fit perfectly with the changed attitude of most of the Trump supporters that I know. People that I've had reasonable conversations with for decades have suddenly reverted to spite, name calling and threats. I suppose it's true that the followers generally take on the attitude of their leader. After all, hardly anyone doubts that Trump is willing to lie, cheat and steal in order to win the election, and Trump himself bragged that he could murder someone and not lose any supporters.
I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised at all by Lee Davis' response, but I'm still shocked every time that I read them, and I'm still greatly saddened to witness, first hand, the final crumbling away of the moral foundation of the Republican Party. What about you? Are you willing to lie, cheat and steal in order to defeat Hillary? And maybe you could answer the follow up question that I intended to ask Lee: Do you think that it is acceptable for a candidate to do these things as long as he's running against Hillary? Leave an answer in the comment section below, and let's have an honest discussion about the moral foundations of the Republican Party.

Wow. And not surprised. I find the same thing as you, about formerly reasonable people.
