Scientific Proof of God
A collection of debates in which I developed and defended my scientific evidence for the existence of God.
Love and Hell
Many atheists challenge the concept that a God of love would send people to Hell. I present two arguments against this challenge: first, that God does not send anyone to Hell and second, that the existence of Hell is not at all incompatible with the Bible’s definition of love as recorded in Romans 13:10.
A Superior Morality? (pdf)
This particular debate was sparked by a comment that I made in regards to some recent vandalism of atheistic signs. This comment generated a lengthy discussion between myself and an atheist about the supposed superiority of atheism over Christianity. I have included the entire discussion below except that I have left out a few initial responses to the article that had no bearing on the debate which ensued.
Accusations Against God (pdf)
An open debate on the atrocities of the Bible. In this debate, the accusation is made that the God of the Bible is guilty of many atrocious crimes against humanity. I point out that those making these accusations have no moral basis for doing so.
The Limits of Speciation
In this short debate, I refute the claim that the small variations observed within a given species can eventually give rise to a new species.
Information, Intelligence and Ignorance
The following, rather heated discussion about the origin of information occurred between myself and two evolutionists in response to an article that I linked to on the Increasing Learning Facebook page. The article was a review of a paper by Dr. Andy McIntosh which demonstrated that the information content of the cell is a definite sign of intelligence.
The Treaty of Tripoli (pdf)
In this discussion, I correct the common misconception that the founding fathers of America said that “America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion.”
Justified Killing in the Bible (pdf)
The following conversation was initiated by a request that I present a biblical perspective on whether it is ever acceptable to take the life of another human being.
The Bible and Self-Government (pdf)
A friend of mine posted the following quote from Gandhi as his facebook status: "I believe the very first step in nonviolence is that we cultivate in our daily life, as between ourselves, truthfulness, humility, tolerance, loving kindness." This sparked a very interesting conversation on the validity of self-government according to the Bible. Here is the discussion that followed:
Christian Pacifism
In this discussion, I present a biblical refutation of pacifism and demonstrate that those who claim that Jesus taught non-violence have strayed from the plain truths of the Scriptures.
A Social Gospel (pdf)
The following discussion on the failures of the social gospel was initiated by a question that I asked about the book The Irresistible Revolution by Shaine Claiborne:
A Monopoly on Truth (pdf)
A friend of mine posted a quote from Shaine Claiborne’s book Jesus for President which sparked the following discussion on the authority of the Scriptures:
Skeptical of Skepticism (pdf)
I often receive comments from agnostics who claim that I am wrong for asserting the existence of absolutes and insist that nothing can be known with absolute certainty. This discussion illustrates how to use the classic response to agnosticism in order to reveal its fallacies.
How Can a Nation be Christian? (pdf)
The following conversation began as a discussion of my article “How Can a Nation be Christian?” which is available in the article section of IncreasingLearning.com, but ended with a dialogue between myself and a witch on whether the practice of witchcraft should be permitted in America.
Good Without God?
In this discussion on the foundations of morality, I provide a Christian solution to the infamous trolley problem, and my atheist opponent is forced to admit the failures of a moral system that denies the authority of God.
God is not a Libertarian (pdf)
This is the debate which produced and subsequently discussed the article of the same name.
The Kachina Bridge Petroglyph (pdf)
This debate on the dinosaur petroglyph was initiated by a comment on the Creation Science Evangelism facebook page stating that “A recent study has just come out claiming that evidence of man and dinosaurs living together is bogus. Yet, the study skews the evidence.”
Morality and Conscience
A debate on the foundations of ethics. This debate provides a great example of the course of most of my discussions with atheists on the topic of morality.
The Golden Rule (pdf)
A discussion questioning the logic of the Golden Rule if there is no God.
Where are the Lost Tribes of Israel
A debate on the validity of the Hebrew Roots movement.
